StreamGuys offers Private Clouds based on VMware vSphere ESX. We support features such as High Availability, 10 gigabit host VM's, iSCSI and NFS Storage, backups, snapshots, cloning and more. VMware is typically deployed on Dell R-Series and C-Series systems for rock solid reliability and performance. Clustering provides hardware resiliency to protect against single server failures. Clusters can be design to support the number of hardware nodes like N+1 or N+2, N+3 etc...

Private Clouds are built based on the amount of resources required such as CPU, RAM, DISK, and NETWORK. StreamGuys can help design and estimate resource requirements for your application.

StreamGuys can manage the creation of VM's on the system, or provide access and training to your support staff for hands on control of management and provisioning new systems. Handle as little or as much of the administration as you prefer.

StreamGuys Private Cloud Architecture

  • Cluster: A logical grouping of hosts that are managed as one resource pool. A cluster consists of hosts, network, and shared storage.
  • Host: Similar robust servers running the ESXi hypervisor. Hosts are the resource pool for virtual machines.
  • Virtual Machine(VM): A virtual computer running standard operating system, services, and applications. VMs perform the same functions as standard dedicated servers
  • Management: The cluster, hosts, and virtual machines are all managed and monitored centrally. This reduces response time and adds to overall availability.
  • Resources: RAM, disk size, or CPU cycles can be added transparently or, at most, with a simple reboot of the VM.
  • Migration: VMs can be migrated to balance resource usage among Hosts. This is done while maintaining client streams and services uninterrupted.
  • High Availability(HA): An HA enabled VM is heartbeat monitored such that any physical host failure will trigger a replicate VM to boot the immediately and automatically on a separate physical host.
  • Fault Tolerance(FT): Two hosts run lockstep copies of a single VM in RAM. This prevents any impact to service from a host failure; streams and services continue uninterrupted. FT is the highest level of redundancy available.
